Quick Kvetch

I suppose this will be the first personal rant for this blog.  Wow!  Long, long thirty-six hours … going off ninety minutes of sleep. However, a nice looking Opposition to Motion to Dismiss in a federal civil rights matter is done, and ready for filing.

Being a attorney doing civil rights/constitutional cases is not easy.  Oftentimes, as in the case above, you take on vested, institutional forces with superior resources.  So, what keeps us going?  Actually, the principles contained with the lawsuit, and the genuine desire to vindicate someone’s rights (and, thus, provide some vindication to a system which regularly appears weighted against the ‘little guy.’

Enough for now.  File the thing, call a client, and get some rest.  😉
