Tribute to the Life of Sargent Shriver

A great individual passed away yesterday.  Sargent Shriver, too often in life — and now death — mentioned simply for his marital affiliation with the Kennedy family and as Mr. Schwarzenegger’s father-in-law, led a virtuous and meaningful existence, spearheading the Peace Corps, LBJ’s War on Poverty, and the Special Olympics.

Individuals such as Shriver are desperately needed in 2011 United States.  Sadly, there are too few of his kind remaining.  His presence will be sorely missed.  His spirit will hopefully carry on into a new era which cherishes deeply Shriver’s advocated values — a country in which the most vulnerable are recognized, cared for, and elevated.
